First and foremost, I Do Events would like to congratulate Wyatt & Natalie as they start their wonderful lives together.  This couple is beyond sweet and we enjoyed working with them so much that we have made their wedding our featured event for August 2011.

Background on beautiful couple:  Wyatt & Natalie met through a mutual friend in 2006, but didn’t start dating until 2008 when Natalie moved back home to Peoria.  The happy couple lives with their 3 year old son, Cole, and their boxer Layla!  The whole family headed to the Ozarks for a relaxing (and much deserved) week-long family vacation.

Inspiration:  Natalie’s inspiration for the wedding was based on the Cotillion room at the Hotel Pere Marquette.  It has a vintage feel to it with the old paintings and gold moldings on the walls.  She wanted her wedding to reflect the elegance and vintage feel of the room and I think we (and numerous other fabulous vendors) helped her pull it off!

Budget:  Although Wyatt & Natalie didn’t have a specific budget in mind, they kept costs down by keeping the bridal party and wedding fairly small.  Their total guest count ended up being approximately 140.  This number of guests allowed them to spend a little more of their budget on some of the details that really pulled the whole vintage look together.

Unique Details:
·        Bridal Gown by Vera Wang.  It had such a pretty 40s look to it and with the black velvet and chiffon rose sash from Etsy.com, she absolutely dazzled in it.  (I Do Events added a rose sash to the front of the draping on the head table to tie in the rose sash on her gown.  It’s all about the details!!)
·         The beautiful bouquets were wrapped in a vintage fabric.
·    The champagne damask linens and champagne satin napkins created the perfect vintage feel for the reception.
·       “Wedding Tree” – Instead of a traditional guest book, the bride and groom opted for a “wedding tree,” which guests sign after stamping their thumbprint.
·         If you look closely in the pictures, the lighting is actually both amber and cream.  This look came together just as we had imagined.  We wanted to keep the lighting interesting without being over the top.
·     The invitations were from Etsy.com and were absolutely inspirational.  That design inspired the menu cards, table numbers, and the escort board.  Those repetitive details really added to the cohesion of the room.
·         Instead of traditional favors the bride and groom made a donation to “Reading is Fundamental.”
