9/10/11

First and foremost, I Do Events would like to congratulate Mathew & Hailee as they start their journey together.   From the start, Hailee knew she wanted her wedding to be different and memorable and she started by picking an unforgettable date of 9,10,11.  Mathew is sure to always remember their anniversary!!

Inspiration:  Hailee wanted something soft and romantic.  She had always loved the classic, “Tiffany Blue,” and wanted to see a lot of crystal embellishments and candlelight.

Bridal Attire:  The custom San Patrick mermaid style dress featured a strapless neckline with layers of tightly fitting criss-cross fabric on the bodice and waist, along with a customized crystal belt.  The skirt had a series of layers of extensively fluttered fabric with a slight train in the back.  The shoes were her “Something Blue” by Manolo Blahnick, the same ones worn by Carrie in Sex and the City when she married Big!!  Matt wore a brown Calvin Klein tuxedo from Jims Formalware as he was insistent on this, and I’m so glad he was.  He looked great!!

August 2011 Featured Event

“Vintage Champagne”

Wyatt & Natalie Wood
8/20/2011

First and foremost, I Do Events would like to congratulate Wyatt & Natalie as they start their wonderful lives together.  This couple is beyond sweet and we enjoyed working with them so much that we have made their wedding our featured event for August 2011.

Background on beautiful couple:  Wyatt & Natalie met through a mutual friend in 2006, but didn’t start dating until 2008 when Natalie moved back home to Peoria.  The happy couple lives with their 3 year old son, Cole, and their boxer Layla!  The whole family headed to the Ozarks for a relaxing (and much deserved) week-long family vacation.

Inspiration:  Natalie’s inspiration for the wedding was based on the Cotillion room at the Hotel Pere Marquette.  It has a vintage feel to it with the old paintings and gold moldings on the walls.  She wanted her wedding to reflect the elegance and vintage feel of the room and I think we (and numerous other fabulous vendors) helped her pull it off!

Budget:  Although Wyatt & Natalie didn’t have a specific budget in mind, they kept costs down by keeping the bridal party and wedding fairly small.  Their total guest count ended up being approximately 140.  This number of guests allowed them to spend a little more of their budget on some of the details that really pulled the whole vintage look together.

Decor Details
Amber & Cream Uplighting
Champagne Damask Floor Length Linens
Champagne Satin Napkins - menu style
Black chair covers with champagne satin sashes
Black, Bling & Rose ball candelabras
Calla lily centerpieces - floating candles & large scale arrangements
Black birdcage card holder
Picture Table - vintage black frames
Champagne satin draping on headtable & cake table

Unique Details:
·        Bridal Gown by Vera Wang.  It had such a pretty 40s look to it and with the black velvet and chiffon rose sash from Etsy.com, she absolutely dazzled in it.  (I Do Events added a rose sash to the front of the draping on the head table to tie in the rose sash on her gown.  It’s all about the details!!)
·         The beautiful bouquets were wrapped in a vintage fabric.
·    The champagne damask linens and champagne satin napkins created the perfect vintage feel for the reception.
·       “Wedding Tree” – Instead of a traditional guest book, the bride and groom opted for a “wedding tree,” which guests sign after stamping their thumbprint.
·         If you look closely in the pictures, the lighting is actually both amber and cream.  This look came together just as we had imagined.  We wanted to keep the lighting interesting without being over the top.
·     The invitations were from Etsy.com and were absolutely inspirational.  That design inspired the menu cards, table numbers, and the escort board.  Those repetitive details really added to the cohesion of the room.
·         Instead of traditional favors the bride and groom made a donation to “Reading is Fundamental.”

Chair Covers can transform any venue into the picture perfect location for your next event! The Maui Jim Children's Home Golf Outing took place on June 6, 2011 at the Peoria Country Club.  The grape, orange, yellow, and lime side organza flower sashes really gave the event the Aloha Spirit.  The colorful organza overlays and sashes accented the beautiful center peices created by Sterling Flower Shoppe.

Betsy Lange Reception

Betsy Lange's wedding was on January 22, 2011.  It was a "book" themed wedding, with our bookshelves adding a little something to the Hotel Pere Marquette.  The tables were covered in champagne damask floor length linens; complemented by ivory chaircovers and willow satin sashes.  They had cocktail tables cinched and even a coffee table and couches for the lounge area!
This was such a fun event to do and the I Do Events team wanted to say congratulations to the newly married couple!

Let the Bridal Shows begin!

This Sunday January 9, 2011, I Do Events took teams to the "Weddings of a Lifetime" Peoria Civic Center Bridal Expo and the 23rd Annual Bridal Expo at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.
The new color schemes for the new year is hot pink, navy, and white, and we wanted to show it at the first bridal expos of the season! We also wanted to show our new ties, linens, and centerpieces.
We had the help of our partner companys; Create A Scene, Prospect TV & Sound, Sara E., and So Chic. Create A Scene made the amazing centerpieces. Prospect brought their awesome wall draping and lights. Sara E., assisted with the sample menu cards and guest board. And So Chic helped coordinate and setup the booth design. We couldn't have done it without them!
Don't forget we are going to be at the Mariott Bridal Expo in Bloomington on January 23rd, and the Mendota Civic Center show on January 30th.  Hope to see you there!
